Scribeophile
So a few days ago, I found this website and decided to give it a try. The layout looks nice, and it’s all about serious writers critiquing writing and getting feedback on your own writing. I’ve been wanting someone to look at my NaNoWriMo novel to see how it fares, so this was perfect. I started a free account.
I’ve hardly gone to any other website since. I LOVE it. Since joining a few days ago I have critiqued others’ writing, earned some karma (the currency of the site) and then I took the big plunge; I spent five karma, and posted my own writing. Chapter one of my NaNoNovel is now on the internet.
That was last night. This morning, I woke up to a message saying that I already have feedback on it. Someone critiqued it and I am so incredibly happy about it, even though it was deemed as being in dire need of some serious editing.
I have considered chapter one the weakest out of the ones I’ve written so far because it was boring to write, and now I finally know why. I can look at it with new eyes now, like a jump-start to my brain, and see what the criticizer sees.
And this is just the first one. I’ve got two more coming before my piece is out of the ‘spotlight’. How cool is that?

I’ve got an account on the site, too. It looks great. I’m glad you are having a good experience. I may get active over there during my next writing break. Right now, I am too busy to give adequate time to critiquing.
